At Embodied Transformation we don't do psychoanalysis, exploration of the past or talking sessions. Because we know that telling your story has only a limited healing effect. The sessions we offer are highly experiential healing sessions. We guide you into the felt experience of your issue and explore how you can release frozen emotions.

We help you making a movement that changes your experience and restructures your physical reaction pattern. Embodied therapy means: liberating blocked energy and starting being more present, self-aware and feeling in a more intense way.

Most people develop a kind of armor in childhood because they were prevented as children from expressing freely what was inside them. Someone who is hindered in expressing emotions like anger, frustration or sadness often develops specific muscle blockages and tensions.

These blockages in the body become character structures that cause discomfort in our social interactions with the people and the world around us. They become survival strategies that prevent us from living up to our full potential. 

This tension can be discharged through specific (self) body touch, postures, movement and exercises. Through integrated bodywork, we break through these patterns to replace them with a more connected state in which mind, body, and spirit are healed. By releasing body tensions and developing a new postures and movements we create a new inner reality.

With body-oriented therapy, our clients often achieve a spectacular improvement in the experienced problem after a few sessions.

TRAUMA
HEALING

Trauma stems mostly from an event, sequence of events or circumstances that are experienced by someone as physically and emotionally harmful and threatening, and to which the person is unable to respond to in an adequate way. When someone has not been able to express the instinctive "fight" or "flight" response in response to a threat, this blocked energy can become traumatic.

Trauma can also arise from:
  • unprocessed entanglements in the family system, 
  • unconscious infection by exposure to other people's traumas 
  • or misplaced energies in the soul system.
They may also come from:
  • suppression or non-recognition of emotions (not allowing emotions).
Trauma can take a physical, emotional or spiritual form or a mixture of it all. 

A Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome is an anxiety disorder that results from experiencing a (set of) emergency situation(s) that was/were outside the range of normal human experience. One continues to experience the trauma without being able to process it, although the event has taken place in the past.​​

BRAINSPOTTING

Brainspotting® locates points in the client’s visual field that help to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. In this way it is possible to bypass the conscious, neocortical thinking to access the deeper, subcortical emotional and body-based parts of the brain. When a brainspot is stimulated, the natural human capacity to rebalance its brain and nerve system is activated.

Brainspotting is effective for a wide variety of emotional and somatic conditions. Brainspotting is particularly effective with trauma-based situations, helping to identify and heal underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression and other behavioral conditions. It can also be used with performance and creativity enhancement. Its goal is to bypass the conscious, neocortical thinking to access the deeper, subcortical emotional and body-based parts of the brain.

BREATHWORK

When people have not been able to survive the instinctive fight or flight response in response to an experienced threat, this blocked energy sticks into the body tissue. This "frozen" state manifests itself in the form of a non-flowing respiration and tension in the body. As a result of this blocked energy, we experience a lack of energy, stress, anxiety, depression and all kinds of mental disorders. 

We use the BioDynamic Breath & Trauma Release System® as a very effective way to break through the different layers of the body armor and release mental, emotional and physical blockages caused by traumatic experiences. Breath therapy integrates deeply connected breathing with body work, specially designed movement, awareness techniques and meditation. 

This results in a restructuring at the cellular level, a complete vortex opening and the release of chronic stress in the nervous system.
